Giving Back to the Community: Trendy Lime’s Commitment to Good Causes

Trendy Lime has built a reputation for our premier events and experiential marketing campaigns, but we know that life isn’t just about the parties. We also pride ourselves on supporting good causes and doing our part to give back to both our local community in San Francisco and the larger global community as well. We’re firm believer’s in author Malcolm Gladwell’s Tipping Point philosophy — that little things can make big differences — and we do our best to fit those small initiatives into almost every event that we’re involved with to help make the world a better place.

We’re proud to have partnered with a number of worthwhile organizations to help raise both money and awareness. Here are some of our past and present philanthropic partners:

Care is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty that places special focus on working with women in poverty. The organization believes that if women around world are given the proper resources, they can often help their families and larger communities break the cycle of poverty. This community-based organization aims to improve women’s education, prevent the spread of disease, increase access to clean water and sanitation, protect natural resources, and increase economic opportunities in developing countries.

Man and Woman of the Year Campaign (2012 and 2013)

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hold an annual Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign in communities across America to raise funds for blood cancer research in honor of young cancer survivors who have been named the Boy & Girl of the Year. The MWOY titles are given to the one man and one woman in each participating community who raise the most funds during a 10-week campaign. In 2012 we backed the campaigns of Roger Royse and Brianna Haag, who both won their respective titles. This year we’re proud to support Christina Resasco and her campaign “MobilizeForTheCure"

Samasource is an innovative organization that delivers enterprise digital services through a unique Microwork model that harnesses the untapped potential of the world’s poor. The “Sama” in the initiative’s name means “equal” and Samasource takes that spirit of equality to connect poor women and youth with training and employment in the digital economy.

We planted a forest in Honduras through Mokugift. At one of our events we pledged a tree for every glass of champagne consumed by one of our guests.

California Youth Connection

Since 1988 California Youth Connection (CYC) has been helping California foster youth to learn leadership and advocacy skills to engage directly with policymakers in order to improve the foster care system. Every year, CYC serves more than 500 members between the ages of 14 and 24.

Spark is a philanthropic network of young professionals who invest to improve the lives of women around the world. The organization works both globally and locally to educate and train the next generation of philanthropists by crowd-sourcing grants, pro bono professional services, and connections for investment in grassroots women’s organizations.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We hosted a fundraiser for this cause, which has touched the lives of millions of people in the U.S. and beyond.

Fair Trade USA

Fair Trade USA is the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States. The organization helps consumers to make ethical choices and provides farmers in developing nations with the tools they need to make their businesses thrive.

Trendy Lime sets up partnerships in a way that offers maximum benefits to organizations and charities. We offer exposure to our network of over 6,000 influential trendsetters and will raise awareness of the cause through multiple marketing initiatives. Part of the proceeds from our events are donated to the good cause with the possibility of raising additional money through special fundraising initiatives on site. Specific aspects of each cause are highlighted at our events and are given extensive media support.

Naturally, partnerships are a two-way street, and we do require beneficiary organizations to provide us with support to maximize the effect of our partnership. We ask all participating charities and organizations to all us to use their name in media communications, support us through their own social networks, share information about the event through their communications channels, take part in a dedicated mailing if possible, send representatives to the event, and have representatives available for interviews.

We’re always looking for cool organizations to team up with to do a little extra good for the world. If you think your charity or philanthropic organization would be a good fit with the Trendy Lime brand, contact us at to discuss a potential partnership.
